Exmed is a preferred supplier of services to the BBC and other independent production companies. Exmed Media is a specialised division of Exmed UK that provides remote area medical support and training to some of the world's top media organisations and production companies.

Our services range from one-day health briefs to complete on-the-ground health and safety management of film productions and expeditions including the assumption of all medical legal risks.

Medical Training to the Media

The Exmed UK training centre in Hereford offers a unique range of facilities and all courses are accredited by the appropriate UK authorities. Popular pre-production courses for media operating in remote and hostile environments include:

- Three-day jungle course

- Three-day cold weather course

- Five-day First Person On Scene course - Intermediate (FPOS)

- Five- day Medicine In Remote Areas course (MIRA)

Exmed UK can also provide courses tailored to the specific needs of a project based on risk assessments, budgets and project timelines.

Medical Support to the Media

Exmed is one of the few companies with proven ability to provide medical support from the point of injury through to the arrangement of air ambulance repatriation.

Our support services most commonly used by media productions and expeditions include:

- Comprehensive medical needs assessment and operations planning
- Complete on-the-ground health and safety management of film productions and expeditions including the provision of qualified Remote Area Medical Practitioners (RMPs)
- 24/7 on-call medical advice and guidance from a team of doctors specialised in pre-hospital care, aviation medicine and psychiatry
