Ged HealyGed Healy is Exmed's Managing Director. He directs all business strategies and has developed Exmed from conception to becoming a global leader of medical services. Ged Healy oversees all medical staff recruitment and operational medical deployments.
A founder member of Exmed, Ged Healy served 14 years with Defence Medical Services, including 5 years with UK Special Forces in a medical capacity. He has provided medical care and expedition expertise on almost every continent and his qualifications include:
- Diploma in Immediate Care Royal College Surgeons Edinburgh; - Diploma in Emergency & Primary Health Care; - State Registered Paramedic. Health Professions Council; - Medicine In Remote Area's Director (MIRA); - Major Incident Medical Management faculty Instructor (MIMMS).

David JonesA founder member and the companies Training Director, David leads Exmed UK's extensive programme of courses in emergency care in critical and acute situations.
Before joining Exmed, during his 18-years service in the UK military, including 8 years with UK Special Forces in a medical capacity, David worked throughout the world including two years in the jungles of Borneo and Malaysia. His qualifications include:
- State Registered Paramedic (HPC); - Diploma in Primary & Emergency Health Care; - Major Incident Medical Management Faculty Instructor; - Tropical Medicine course (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine); - Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching (FE).

Patrick Burke, BSc (Hons) MScAs Exmed UK's Business Development Manager, Pat ensures the delivery of business solutions and provides commercial input into the company's tender documentation.
With a formal education in psychology, Pat has a broad range of consultancy experience in the banking, retail, energy, transport and defence sectors.

Annette CoddAnnette is Exmed's finance manager. Annette has thirty six years experience of financial management. Before joining our team Annette was the financial controller of a large UK national company with staff in 11 regional offices.
She oversees the day to day financial management of the company and assists with the financial management of Exmed's associated business.

Richard Slade B.Sc (Hons)Richard joined exmed in early October 2009 as the Key Accounts Manager.
In 2003 Richard obtained a Psychology honours degree from Brunel University, London where his studies included consumer behaviour and Marketing. As a graduate, Richard then left to work within the pharmaceutical industry for GlaxoSmithKline, before going onto work within Account Management for Michael Page International where his clients included the Rugby Football Union, Network Rail, the NSPCC and the Department of Health. A brief stint within the advertising industry (JWT) preceded his decision to move to Herefordshire. Since leaving London he has worked for several SME's within various industries. |
Shaun TaylorShaun is the Equipment manager for Exmed. With a 10 year history within the retail industry Shaun manages the supply of medical equipment worldwide.
Having developed and formulated proven systems which allow a professional and customer focused service and being instrumental in the design and development of the companies web shop; Shaun is a key member of our team.

Nick HewerWell known for his role as Lord Alan Sugar's confidant and advisor, Nick Hewer has more than 40 years' consulting experience, with clients drawn from the widest range of business, cultural, academic and charity sectors, both in the UK and abroad.
With his experience, mainly focused on the marketing and communications functions, Nick is employed as Exmed's business advisor and is well positioned to promote Exmed as the company's business moves strongly ahead.

Andrew Thurgood MSc, DIMC RCS(Ed), Dip HS, RGN, SR Para,...Andrew is a Consultant Nurse and qualified advanced practitioner, he provides Exmed UK with advice and clinical support on a wide range of practice and training issues.
He is a highly respected consultant nurse with over 20 years of clinical and business experience and has developed a diverse portfolio of clients from both the NHS, security and private sectors.
Recent publications and contributing authorships include JRCALC Clinical Guidelines for UK Paramedics, EDEXEL's First Person on Scene, Oxford Handbook of Expedition and Wilderness Medicine and most recently, the Clinical Guidelines for Police Firearms Officers, now published by the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Andy is an examiner for the Diploma in Immediate Care awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an operational member of the BASICS scheme, the Mercia Accident Rescue Service.

Dr Richard Hardern, MB ChB FRCP (Ed) FCEMRichard advises Exmed UK on best practice and clinical governance.
He is a consultant in emergency medicine at the University Hospital of North Durham and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer. With substantial experience in the teaching of clinical governance and evidence-based best practice, Richard runs critical appraisal workshops, which attract participants from all over the globe.
He is the author of some 50 publications and founder of the Wilderness Medicine for Medical Students course (WMMS) - the first of its kind in the UK.

Dr Charlie Easmon, MBBS MRCP MSc Public Health DTM&H Doc Med DFPHCharlie provides Exmed UK with travel, and tropical health support and is a key member of the company's clinical governance team.
Before joining Exmed UK, Charlie served for several years on the board of the British Travel Health Association and is one of the few UK medical practitioners to have obtained the International Certificate in Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Health.
He has worked in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and the Far East for several organisations including the UK Foreign Office, the European Commission's humanitarian aid department ECHO, Raleigh International and Save the Children.

Dr James R Álvarez, PhDAs a key member of Exmed UK's operational team, Jim is highly experienced in delivering on-site psychological preparation and response services to clients operating in hostile environments.
Jim is a qualified clinical psychologist and an internationally recognized authority on psychological trauma treatment and negotiations. He is the only hostage negotiator to have worked for both Scotland Yard and the New York Police Department and his most recent work, "The Psychological Impact of Kidnap", was published August 2007. Jim is bilingual in English and Spanish with dual US/UK nationality.

Col (Retd) Dr Mike England, MBBS GP (T) MFOM MSc (SEM) psc (J)As a consultant in occupational medicine and a General Practitioner, Mike advises Exmed UK on client risk and reduction of risk in the workplace. He assists in underwriting medical protocols and the provision of clinical guidance.
Mike recently retired from the British army's Defence Medical Services as Commander Medical 5 Division. His 20-year career in the British army included service as the Senior Medical Officer for UK Special Forces.

Dr John Anthony East, MBE MB BCh BAO DAvMed MFOM FCMIJohn is the senior adviser on Occupational Health within Exmed UK and is responsible for the clinical governance and procedures for overseas projects.
A former Chief of Staff to the Director-General Army Medical Services in the UK, John is an accredited consultant in occupational medicine with postgraduate qualification in aviation medicine. During a distinguished career in the British army, he led operational planning during the first Gulf War and the Falklands campaign, for which he received an MBE.

Shima KeeneShima is a non-executive director of Exmed UK, based at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in Shrivenham.
As a criminologist, economist and security advisor, she has worked closely with a range of UK government departments including the Home Office, Foreign Office, the Ministry of Defence and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. She has also worked with inter-governmental organisations such as NATO and the OSCE.
As a former corporate financier, economist and strategic consultant in the City of London, Shima maintains close contact with the private sector both at home and abroad.
